It's one of a series of Civil War ironclad models put out by William Mahmood. (Check out his website at members.aol.com/wfmarabknt/ironclads.html for more information, photos, and to order.) The kits are fairly simple, easy to build, and lend themselves well to additional detailing and finishing. They're reasonably priced, too. I added some cannons, anchor chains, and funnel smoke to this model of the CSS Tennessee, famed for its gallant defense at the Battle of Mobile Bay.
