1/24 MAS 562 (Scratchbuilt)
This is a remote controlled model of the MAS 562 of the WW2 Italian military marine that survived the war and passed to the Italian Guardia di Finanza in the fifties. The MAS 562 was a high speed torpedo boat of the third series, equipped with two strong Isotta Fraschini diesel engines, specialized in very quick attacks especially against submarines. Actually MAS stands for "Motoscafo Anti Sommergibili". She was built of wood (mahogany). The model is completely scratchbuilt (including blade, propellershaft, etc.), made of wood with the classical double strip planking technique and is 76 cm long. The original ship was around 18,5 m long. The model is also equipped with red and green position led lights and xenon white light.
