Built from the Eastern Express reissue of FROG's old 1/110 scale kit, this represents a Trinity House lightship built in the 1950s to replace the previous Goodwin lightship wrecked in a storm. It has no onboard propulsion and was towed to its mooring spot!
The kit is basically sound and a good basis for detailing. I added various scratchbuilt and spares-box parts, replaced the plastic rails with Deans Marine 1/96 PE stanchions rigged with wire, and drilled out the portholes and glazed them with "Kristal Kleer". The masts were also scratchbuilt from aluminium and brass tubing as the kit parts were too flimsy to take the weight of rigging.
