1/350 PT-22 and PT-109 (White Ensign Models)

Both White Ensign Models 77' (PT-22) and 80' (PT-109) Elco  boats were built out-of-the-box with the exception of the clear machine gun "turrets" on the PT-22. The clear "turrets" were vacuformed using my old Mattel machine I purchased in 1972. They turn-out OK; but, the plastic should be a little thinner. The PT-22 was based on a photograph depicting the arrival of PT boats from Pearl Harbor at/just after the Midway air attack in June 1942. The PT-22 was painted Ocean Gray and the PT-109 Navy Green using Poly Scale acrylic paints. Total construction time for both boats was about 30 hours. This was my first experience with a WEM kit. The casting was outstanding and detailed. The photo-etch was extremely detailed and well done; but, very delicate to work with.
