1/350 Hayabusa missile boat (Pitroad)
G,day all , this is my model of the JMSDF missile patrol boat Hayabusa
PG824 , beautiful little kit which went together well . The top and bottom
hull halves joined at the water line so with some careful gluing and painting
you can not see the join so no filler was needed. The kit supplies clear
parts for the bridge windows but I left these out as to me it looks much
better without them and was easier as well . The railings were L'Arsenal
1/350 US navy ultra fine railing set which to me were perfect as at the
time of the build there was no after market sets but wouldn't you know
it as soon as I finished the kit an after market set from pit road was
released . I thought about buying another Hayabusa and etch set to build
but decided against it as I am very happy how mine turned out. I did change
the kit 50 cal's for some spares that I had , not quite the right shape
for the blast shields but I don't mind . The colors that I used were Tamiya
IJN navy Gray ( Sasebo arsenal ) XF77 for the deck and IJN navy Gray (
Kure arsenal ) XF75 for the hull and black for the keel . I'm not sure
these were the right colors but I could not find any better info and as
these were Japanese colors i figured it cant be to wrong . The aerials
are brass wire and that's about it.
