1/350 USS Helena PG-9 (Combrig)

My build of the Combrig U.S.S. Helena was supposed to be a quick change of pace from my normal Haze Grey or dazzle camouflage  between the finishing of a winter long project and the start of a fall build. For what should have been a quick build I spent more time hunting up reference photographs online at the Naval History & Heritage Command, the Library of Congress digital photo collection web sites and during a visit to the National Archives. For such a small model there were large number of small parts that required careful attention as the Carpet Monster was always ready to snap up any that went flying, I have yet to find two small vents. As was normal with Combrig kits only a basic amount of PE parts came with the kit so I reached out to Commanders-Iron Shipwright and thanks to the good folks who work there I was able to acquire the correct style of deck edge railings.
