1/700 Ecuadoran Corvette El Oro CM-14 (Scratchbuilt)
The Ecuadoran Navy Missile Corvette El Oro recently particpated in multinational exercises with the US and other Latin American navies, so I decided to scratchbuild her. The ship is 89mm long and 14mm wide. I used GMM Modern USN/JMSDF photoetch set for the railing, ladders, flight deck netting, and radar (which is highly modified from one of the JMSDF radars).
I used Pitroad gun turrets--the Breda twin 40mm is way overscale. I had to scratchbuild the torpedo tubes because the Pitroad tubes were almost as tall as the superstructure. The SAM launcher is modified from a Pitroad ASROC box launcher. The Bell Jetranger is modified from the WEM OH-58.
