1/72 Vosper MTB (Airfix)
This is the first plastic ship I've completed in a long time. The Vosper was a high speed, plastic wrapped fuel tank...and gorgeous. To the kit I added an Oerlikon from Great Little Ships - not cheap but a nice addition. The rail around the gun was something I soldered up from thin copper wire to get somewhere near scale... The conical radar antenna was a pig to do. I tried making a jug for it but ended up glueing bits of wire in situ. It's not great, but I think it's better than the solid plastic item in the kit. I did the sea base using a combination of milliput, dappled with a dremel tool, a very messy pastime, and plaster for the bow wave. I then painted the base using oils, same as I would a painting.
