1/72 PT-109 (Revell)
The model depicts Lt.(jg) John F. Kennedy's PT-109 at the time of her loss on 1-2 August 1943, in Blackett Strait, Solomon Islands. Although the Revell kit is over 40-years old it can now, thanks to White Ensign Models and a reasonable investment of effort, be made into an accurate and detailed model of an early type 80-foot Elco PT boat. The worst part of thebuild was sanding and filing the deck smooth. The model requires a bit of scratch-building, plus WEM's PT photo-etch, 37mm anti-tank gun, Tropical Green Colourcoats paint and GMM decals. All in all an enjoyable project where the research was half the pleasure
