Tarantul III

1/400 Tarantul III (Mirage)

This kit has been extensively modified to be more accurate. The superstructure is completely wrong and has been adapted by cutting off a part and replacing it with a different piece of styrene. It still isn't perfect but I never managed to complete the last pieces. I have used stretched sprue for the flagropes.

I cut off the underwater part of this full hull kit to be able to put her in an acrylic gel base.

The missile was built from a piece of sprue along with some stretched sprue ends. I have cut the wings from a the sprue letterboards.

I have opened up the launcher by cutting off the hatch and glued it in an open position. Afterwards I made a small hole in the missile's aft body and used a piece of stretched sprue to connect it to the ship's launcher. Afterwards I added some cotton wool as a smoke. I have tried to colour it more yellow/orange, but that has not worked.

The water was created by using a cardboard base, painting it, then applying the acrylic gel and afterwards paint it again to fit the requirements.
