HMS Agamemnon A 64 gun ship of 1782, Nelson’s favourite, the fastest ship of her time and the ship on which he spent most of his sailing time. She was made to a scale of 1/64 in Pearwood from the 200 year old ship's plans from the National. Maritime Museum Greenwich consisting of 6 sheets. Her decks are made of maple wood and the spars are of beechwood. She is 5ft long, has 3000 individual copper plates, home made rope and 12,500 treenails (wood nails, made on my small wood lathe), and each plank is separate with caulking.
She took 3 years to to build.
