1/55 Hansa Cog (Revell)
The Cog is a typical mediaeval trading vessel from northern Europe, this particular model represents a Hanseatic ship from the Baltic coast of northern Germany. The kit was originally made by Zvezda and now reissued by Revell Germany at a significantly reduced price! Sold as 1/72, the actual scale is closer to 1/55. My model was built more or less out of the box other than the barrels on deck. I painted it with Revell acrylics, using drybrushed craft acrylic paint and oil washes to get the wood effect on the hull and deck planking.
