1/350 Horst Wessel (Revell Germany Kitbash)
This is my model of the Kriegsmarine Sail-Training-Vessel Horst Wessel.
It is based on the Revell-kit of the Gorch Fock (II), although this kit does not represent the ship. Because of the age of the kit nearly everything had to be scratchbuilt. This includes the capstan, anchoring gear, the frames at the midship section, pin rails, benches and much, much more.
The rigging is made from fishing line and heat stretched sprue and took the main part of the time I needed to finish. Therefore I have been sailing aboard the Gorch Fock (II) I had luckily enough photos for this part.
The model is painted with Revell Aquacolours. I received the information for the painting scheme from the actual owners of the Gorch Fock (I).
