This is a plastic model of the      caravel   Santa  Maria
i built this kit from the old Revell 1950s kit circa 1986 reissue.
It is out of the box using the decals on kit decals on the sails before
airbrushing them and the wood tone was dome with oils over acrylics .
not wanting to put aside warship models i just wanted to try something more
rustic ..and although its technically not a warship ,it still was allot of
fun ...
I built it in about three weeks .as a side project .and was satisfied to
follow the kit  instructions for rigging as apparently ....no one really
knows what the real Santa Maria really looked like ....
I hope that it may find a place on the Warships Gallery ..maybe there are
some other warship modelers that have wondered about building a sailing ship
from time to time .
