Santa Catarina de Monte Sinai (Portuguese Man'o War) (Lindberg)
The Portuguese Man 'O War "Santa Catarina" was one of the really nice Lindberg sailing ship kits that were out in the early 1990s. It was part of a series that included the "Captain Kidd" pirate ship (which seems to have really been the "Wappen von Hamburg,") the "Jolly Roger" pirate ship, and the "Gouda" Dutch East Indies ship. These may have all been re-issues of older molds, but I will always associate them with Lindberg.
I really enjoyed building and painting this kit of such an unusual subject. I left out the mainsail, as I felt it obscured too much of the deck details.
