1/1250 SMS Sachsen and gunboat SMS Wespe (Helge Fischer/Aquarius)

The Sachsen class was unusual in layout. Two guns were situated side by side in a pearshaped barbetteforward, with the others mounted at the corners of a sqaure barbette just aft of the funnels, whih were also arranged in a square, giving the ship a very distinctive appearance. Sachsen ended her days as a target ship and was broken up in 1919

SMS Wespe was the name ship of this class of gunboats whose intended design function encompassed the ability to ground themselves on the sanbanks off the German coast and effectively be used as fixed gun batteries. They were not good seaboats, and as such were laid up for much of their careers.

The models are in the scale of 1/1250 detailed, painted and rigged with stretched sprue.
