The SMS Oldenburg was the misfit in the imperial German fleet. She was obsolet when she came in service and her range of 800sm was too short. This unlucky ship was the result of the intervention of the German parliament into the plans for the ship. Funny, nowdays a German navy ship also namend Oldenburg is completed since some years but until nowdays not ready for service.
