My wife's Amsterdam Tug. Well I was looking over the site and realised I did not have our tug. My Wife likes R/C ships along with R/C electric truck racing. So, here is her tug. The 3' Amsterdam tug by Latina. This is the older one that came out many years ago. It is a plank on plank with fiberglass over the planking. We picked up this tug as a rebuild about 15 years ago. She took a liking to the tug and I gave it to her. It is about 3'long, 10" wide and about 2' tall from the keel to the top of the mast. She wanted to paint it so I told her she could paint it any way she wanted and name it as well.
I did the rebuilding and she did the paint work. At that time she was an Allan Kulwicki fan, but he passed away in a plane crash. He was the 1992 NASCAR Champion, so that is the name that was given.
It is powered by a 12V standard Pittman motor. Standard 12V Gel cell, with Novak speed control. Standard 2 channel radio. She runs and handles good. We have even let others run it if we feel comfortable with them. This way it gives them an idea on what it is like to handle a R/C ship. It also has a single 2 inch brass rudder. It is one of the oldest ships in the fleet, and handles very easy. IF you have any questions just ask.
