USCG Cutter Mustang WPB-1310

1/48 USCG Cutter Mustang WPB-1310 (Lindberg Kitbash)

Mustang is an Island class cutter. She is built from the Real USCG Mustang that is stationed up in Seward, AK. She is 110 feet and has a pair of Paxman diesels.

This one that I built is from a 1/32 PT boat hull that I changed some. It was the Lindberg kit, eveything on top was scrachbuilt, the crew members are from 1/48th scale aircraft kits. I did all of my own castings, the rest of her is scratch by using 1/8 bass and balsa wood. It is set up with a standard 2 channel Futaba radio. The hull is plactic from the Pt boat kit. I have it powered by a set of 550 motors, and I am still looking for a good speed control to handle the power.

She is set up with the Traxxas speed props. She is 29 inches long.

I had an extra hull and decided to use it for the cutter. The paint is Model Master.

I spent about 3 months off and on building it when I got the time.

I am thinking about the new Traxas/Novack speed control that is set up with for dual motors and batteries that are used in the Traxxas E-Maxx trucks.

I know that is what is use in those trucks from my RC racing.

I would be happy to answer any questions for anybody, just send me an E mail.

Don
