USCG Hamilton

1/96 USCG Hamilton WHEC-715 (Scale Shipyard)

This a USCG Hamilton Class cutter, She is a Scale Shipyard hull. She is 4ft long; everything except for the figures are scratchbuilt. This is the updated Hamilton before the change over.

It has a pair of 6V Dumas motors with a Manuela speed control and a 2 channel radio. I spent about 6 months building time from start to finish. This was an interesting ship, for it has a lot of different angles to it. I had been wanting to build a Hamilton for a few years but never had the time until back in December of 2004, then things work out and I was able to do it. This may be my last ship for awhile; but I do have another idea for an another type of Patrol cutter!

Now some of the shots were taken a club meeting a couple months ago for I belong to the Vancouver Modelers out of Vancouver Washingtion. The ones with it being in water were taken during this year at a duck pond here in Portland OR.

There are pictures of the cutter as I was building it. I started building my own hull, but ended up getting one after I ran into a some bad fiberglass setup. I ended up throwing it away but learned a few things about fiberglass setup that I did not know so it became a learning experience. The hull in gray is the first hull, the white one is with the new Scale Shipyard hull. I scratch built from the decks up.
