1/700 USS Blue Ridge LCC-19 (Trumpeter)
My hat is off to the Trumpeter folks for producing a really excellent kit of the command ship U.S.S. Blue Ridge (LCC 19). Everything fit really well with a minimum of knife work. The Blue Ridge was one of two such command ships built to oversee amphibious fleet operations. With their spacious electronics suites (and nicer than usual officer and crew accomodations) they soon became fleet commanders' vessels rather than amphib operations ships. Over the years numerous weapons systems have been added or altered on them. The Trumpeter kit depicts the vessel in 1996. I built it as out of the box without modification.
