1/350 Visby class corvette (Orange Hobby)
Here we have the Swedish navy's Visby class corvette HELSINGBORG K32 by Orange hobby . I love the stealthy shape and sharp paint job on these ships and couldn't wait to get my hands on one . The only thing I would have liked would have been a full hull version as im a full hull kind of guy but you cant always get what you wont . I started off giving it a good wash which wasn't good enough as the first coat of paint came off in some areas but after the second wash with oven cleaner the paint stuck and the only thing that didn't stick after that was the skin on my hands witch peeled off the next day but were they clean buy then I must say. Must wear gloves next time. With the color I went through all my greys to find a color that I was happy with and settled on Gunze Hobby color H305 and H308 witch I think was pretty spot on . I couldn't decide on closing up all the hatches or have them open so on this build I would close them but I then went and brought another one with the helo on the back to build open , why have one when you can have two. The mast guide wires are stretched sprue and these can be quickly dismantled buy the crew should they need to adopt a more stealthy radar signature. One little thing I did have trouble with was the gun mounts on the rear deck , they gave me the shits but my fat mechanic fingers got there in the end and that's about it . Cheers
