1/700 USS Great Sitkin AE-17 (Scratchbuild)

This is a scatchbuild model of balsa, sheet plastic, notecard paper, typing paper, and broomstick bristle of AE-17 USS Great Sitkin, a Mount Hood (C2 hull) ammuntion ship commissioned 11 August 1945, which served through part of the Vietnam War until it was sold for scrap in March, 1974. I built the ship according to some photos of its original WWII appearance, and photographed it between a 1/700 Matchbox CLAA USS San Diego and a 1/700 Tamiya Fletcher class destroyer. Great Sitkin had a displacement of 13,900 tons and a top speed of 16 knots
