1/700 USS Bedford Victory AK-231 (Scratchbuild)

Provo Victory was one of dozens of Victory ships built during WWII. The model is built out of balsa, sheet plastic, typing paper, and broom-stick bristle. The surrounding small craft are 1/700 Pit Road kits. Photos of Victory ships from NAVSOURCE were a big help. Some of the old Victory ships sailed on to different modifications, and some even sported helipads on their fan-tails during the Viet Nam war in the mid 1960's. According to records, Bedford Victory was launched 23 September 1944, and was struck from the Naval Register 28 August 1946, and was scrapped in 1972.
