I was feeling quiete inspired again to have another go at her!! One big liberty though...... Shell Welder was a British ship!!!(hence no stars and stripes) She could do with a Big Red Ensign, If you need one either apply a GMM Union Jack decal onto a pre-coloured red paper and crinkle... damn, I should practice what I preach... Now I will have to add one also.... Loved the no smoking script, where did that come from? Send the pictures to timothy of www.modelwarships.com at his picture mail address cadman2k@aol.com, the world need to see this!! Lovely work Best wishes JIM BAUMANN ----- Original Message ----- From: Mucaro, Tory To: 'James Baumann' Sent: Monday, July 07, 2003 8:48 PM Subject: RE: Shell Welder Hi Jim, I thought you might like to see how my Shell Welder turned out. Here are a couple of pictures I took of it. Tried as I did, I really couldn't find too much reference on it and wound up using the pictures of your model for most of my reference. I took a few liberties here and there, but otherwise it should be pretty close to yours. Funny foot note - The Atlantic photo etched sheet was about 12 inches short on the railings. And I was VERY conservative using them. I wound up having to find something close for the main deck railings, although they are admittedly a little small...
