1/700 USS Niobrara AO-72 (Loose Cannon)
This is my creation of the USS Niobrara AO-72. Made for one of the members at our Legion post who served aboard her in the early 1950's. It is from Loose Cannon Prod. in 1/700 scale. It was my first resin kit. I found out that resin is alot different from plastic.(much more brittle) . The boom is scratchbuilt from evergreen strips. I basically worked from a fuzzy picture of the boom. Needless to say the recipient was extrememly happy as he recieved it for Christmas. It is not as perfect as some of the submissions to this site but I had a enjoyable time doing this and this is what I feel the hobby is all about.
