MS Ore Monarch

1/350 MS Ore Monarch (Scratchbuilt)

This ship has followed me thru the years. My first sight of it was in the middle of the sixties when it arrived in my hometown to begin loading iron ore. I tried to visit the harbor every time the ship came in. It was so mighty, and rather big, at 44,632 dwt. Those days I was about ten or eleven years old. Some years later I worked on my first oreship myself, MS Loussa Gränges. But I have never forgot this one and now the circle have come to an end. Finally after several yers, I have managed to find all I need to make a model of it.

I am continuing my building and here is where I plan to put my Ore ship some day. I build the structure in plastic. I also plan to put an icebreaker and some tugboats in the harbour.

(New Images start on Page 2) My progress on the Ore Monarch and harbour have come so far. I have finished building the ore cranes, elevator-loaders, and all the fanhouse on the funnel deck.

My first attempt to build rolling equipment to my yard. Besides this wheel loader, I'm going to need trucks, etc. But you have to start somewhere. Also getting the open hatches ready.
