Putumayo

1/700 Putumayo (Loose Cannon)

Putumayo was a C1 transport bought by Peru in 1946 and scrapped in the mid-70's, mainly up and down the west coast of the Americas. Putumayo appears to have been little-altered throughout her working life, unlike a lot of the mass-produced WW2 American cargo ships. The model represents her appearnce ca 1965.

She is painted in enamels with oil washes for her upperworks whilst her hull is painted in artists' acrylics with oil washes.

Her companions in this small diorama are a fishing boat (also from Loose Cannon) and one of the ever-useful BFM tugs.

Photo's - thanks to Peter Fulgoney.
