This Ringo Toy Corp. kit is approximately 50 years old and is very crude by current standards. I believe the kit was reissued by Glencoe in the 1990's. I scratch built replacements for many of the kit parts from stock styrene and items from the spares bin. The kit features erroneous planked decking and I ended up replacing all of the deck parts with sheet styrene. Almost all of the remaining kit parts that I did use had to be modified. Other details included various spare PE items and dark and light blue colored transparent plastic for the passenger lounge windows and swimming pool. I air brused Testors Model Masters enamels followed by Krylon gloss and a light black wash and finally Krylon flat. Rigging was a challenge, I used fine silk thread for the heavier cargo boom rigging and ultra fine UNI-Caenis 20 for the remainder. The Caenis is almost invisible and is difficult to work with.
Almost toy like out of the box, a great deal of tedious work is required to bring this kit up to an acceptable standard. Having completed this project, I think it might be easier to start with the Revell kit even though it too has many problems.
