SS Uganda as HMHS Uganda (Her Majesties Hospital Ship)
As part of my slowly growing Falklands Task Force I fancied a change. My wife was on the Uganda when it was called STUFT, and her and hundreds of other school children were disembarked at Sorrento. It seemed a suitable challenge.
This is my second scratch build in this scale and I'm slowly understanding how to get the best out of my limited skill set. The model was built using overall dimensions only, everything else was gleaned from photos found on the internet and guess work. Photo etch from WEM and the Wasp from an Airfix warship. The glass case is an Ikea pot-pourri pot and the base a poor attempt at woodworking.
The seascape is sculpted plaster.
