1/700 IJN 1st Class Fast Transport T-9 (Tamiya)
This model represents the T-9, an IJN 1st Class Fast Transport, that saw some action during the Philippines Campaign late 1944 and succeeded avoiding destruction until the end of the war when the ship surrendered and paid repatriation work afterwards.
The model is an old mold from Tamiya and it needed quite a bit of attention and details. I used many Skywave extra parts to replace the Tamiya ones. For Photo-etch I used WEM's IJN Doors & Hatches plus IJN AA guns; also some generic sets from Éduard and Gold Medal Models. Masts, cranes, submarine supports and parts of the bridge had to be scratchbuild. This is an old model (around 3 years old or so) but saw some recent upgrades recently and since I have "refinished" her recently I thought it would be a good welcome to the Modelwarships gallery.
