1/400 QUEEN MARY 2 Platinum Edition (REVELL)

This is the 1/400 scale Platinum Edition of the Queen Mary 2 by Revell, complete with wooden decks and photoetched parts, plus wooden balcony decks by Chuanyu Models.

I have added 691 chairs on the balconies and decks, 13 bar stools, 2 ping-pong tables, protection nets on the 3 sports areas, water in the swimming pools and a few pillars and bulkheads. With these the total number of pieces is 1514.

I used a second set of photoetched parts in order to complement the original one, as some railings were not always perfectly dimensioned and had gaps that required to be filled. Wooden decks also had to be extended at some places, using leftovers from the original sheets.
She took me 21 months to build (almost as much as the real thing, which was built over 23 months from January 2022 to December 2023!).
