The President Cleveland was started as the P2-SE2-R3 Navy transport Admiral D. W. Taylor. Before completion it was turned over to American President Lines and finished as the President Cleveland, along with her sistership the President Wilson. The Cleveland spent the 50s and 60s trading from U.S. west coast ports to Honolulu and the Far East. She was scrapped in 1974.
Among the improvements I made to the basic kit: Took off the molded-on accomodation ladders from the hull and drilled out the port holes. Created new decals, as the supplied ones were both deteriorated and out of scale. Added 5 bar PE railing from Tom's Modelworks' 1/400 Titanic set. Sheet styrene was added to model the wooden cap rail. Scratch built boat davits, anchor windlass and chain, cargo blocks, and radar antenna.
