RMS Queen Mary 2

1/360 RMS Queen Mary 2 (Scratchbuilt)

The QM2 is another one of my various scratch-built 1/360 scale static ship models which took me 26-1/2 months to complete. She was built using compressed cardboard stock material for the hulll and superstructure. The hull was reinforced with thick cardboard stock bulkheads for rigidity and later water-proof with two coats of enamel paint. Openings on the hull and cabin partitions on the upper decks were Laser cut. The tenders were moulded in Alumilite (hard plastic). Styrene panels, rods, angles & channels were used extensively. Data and information were obtained from internet and from books "Queen Mary 2 - the Greatest Ocean Liner of Our Time" and "Queen Mary 2 - the Birth of a Legend".
