1/125 U-203 Type VIIc U boat (Revell)

This is Revells' 1/125 the scale kit of the U-99, a type VIIb U-boat, converted to U-203, a type VIIc boat as it was in 1942.

I modified the conning tower by filling in the starboard side, and then added the wind deflector, the antenna rod housing to the port side , and extended the lower trailing edge as in production type VIIc's. Additional detail was also added to the conning tower such as a compass, periscope housing protectors, and an aerial insulator.

The rake of the bow was increased and the leading edge of the bow was refined to a knife edge after rebuilding with plasticard and milliput.

All the railings, steps and handholds other than the bandstand were made from florists wire, soldered where necessary .
