1/400 DKM U-295 Type VII/C-41 (Mirage)
This kit is from Mirage, a Polish company and my first experienec of their product. The quality of very good, to excellent in my view.
There are hardly any extra jobs to be done apart from the usual smoothing and sanding .at the joints etc.
The railings are made from 1/350 PE scarp pieces out of the junk box and the rigging has been made using stretched sprue-my favourite method.
I avoided cuting off the underwater part of the hull , submerged it into styropor foam and built a frame around it which was painted black. The water surface was modelled with silicone after the top of the styropor was painted in appropriate colours
The model was brush painted with Revell colours and weathered with thinned down pigment colours.
