I recently built this U-82 Type VII C U-boat from the excellent Revell kit in 1/72 scale and it's big. I'm sorry I waited so long to build this since it's been on the market for a while now and I didn't realize just how good the kit was. The molded detail is excellent, there was almost no flash on the pieces and the fit of all the parts was perfect. It was a real pleasure to work on and a far cry from the old Revell kits.
I chose to finish this ship as the U-82 because of the interesting camouflage paint scheme (which turned out to be more work than I anticipated) and because of it's participation in Operation Drumbeat - even though she was sunk while returning from that mission, and also because the decals provided were limited and I couldn't find any good info on other U-boat paint schemes.
