1/72 DKM U-96 Type VIIC (Revell Germany)
This is a commission build of the famed boat in the movie, "Das Boot". The signal lights were shaved off and filled in as well as the forward insulator on the tower.
I used Modelbrass' decks, WEM's net cutters and Steve Nuttall's brass periscopes and gun barrels. The boat is painted with WEM's Colourcoat paints: upper hull and tower are Hellgrau 50, lower hull is Schiffesbodenfarbe III Grau, wave deflector and splash guard are Schlickgrau 58, and the deck gun is Dunkelgrau 2. I used Stretch Magic for the rigging which stretches, relieving tension on the parts it attaches to. The Laughing Sawfish are from ULAD and painted over with Dunkelgrau 2. Kriegsmarine flag is from modelflags.com.
