1/350 HMS Tabard P342 (Starling Models)

HMS Tabard was a Group III T-class submarine. She was commissioned on June 25, 1946, too late to see service in World War II. She served mostly in the Mediterranean Sea before undergoing modifications and modernization that greatly altered her appearance. The excellent Starling Models kit represents Tabard as she appeared prior to those modifications. I had this kit in my stash for some time, but I loathed the idea of having to mix paints to make PB10, which is the color that many Royal Navy submarines wore when operating in the Mediterranean. Then Sovereign Hobbies added PB10 to its Colourcoats paint line and I was finally able to finish this fine kit.  My build is essentially out of the box with the exception of using .005-inch nitinol wire for the rigging and the White Ensign for another decal sheet.
