1/700 JMSDF Submarine Harushio (HobbyBoss)

This is the recent HobbyBoss 1/700 scale release of the modern Japanese sub Harushio. Commissioned in late 1990, the Harushio is the lead ship in a class of six subs of the JMSDF. They were the 2nd generation of JMSDF subs - they came after the Yushio class, but prior to the newest ones, the Oyashio class.

These HobbyBoss issues are great little kits, particularly since they're covering some subjects (like these JMSDF subs) not found elsewhere.

The three color paint scheme was challenging to mask - it came out pretty well, although not perfect by any means.
