1/350 IJN I-400 (Tamiya)
The Tamiya I-400 kit in 1/350 scale is an excellent, if, in my opinion, overpriced kit, of an excellent model of the Imperial Japanese Navy giant aircraft carrying submarines. I was impressed with the quality of the molding, the options available, the (limited) photo-etch fret and the extra aircraft included. On the minus side, the deck gun is very plain and they didn’t include any railing in the photo-etch fret, which is a shame since the conning tower really didn’t require that much.
