1/700 IJN I-46 (Fujimi)
Ship is 1/700 scale Fujimi IJN I-46.
This was an old kit that I actually picked up at a garage sale. The box was a bit damaged and the decals were missing, but all the parts were there.
Hull and Island painted with Humbrol Matt 27 and the deck was painted Humbrol Matt 93. Windows, Deck-Gun, Kaitens and Airiel were all painted in Tamiya Matt Black. Weathering was achieved with pastel chalk and Citadel wash. The base is a piece of pine painted initially with light blue acrylic paint with numerous heavy washes of acrylic navy blue followed by application of acrylic Gel Medium and allowed to dry in a dust-free place. The natural sparkle of the gel medium bodes well for a sea base.
