This is my first 1/350 submarine kit in my collection. This box is no.1005 "USS.Dallas vs. Soviet Alfa" which it's mean they come in pair of 1 "USS.Dallas" and 1 "Soviet Alfa". So, I decided to built my lovely Soviet submarine first.
This kit was nice & easy to built , only 12 pieces to make this sub completed. This is a full hull kit, upper - lower hull halves assembly. Like the other DML submarine I've built before. The majority problem is warping and fitting of hull halves. I got to filled and sanded a lot. Yeah, it'isn't fun and the other problem than fit is that most of parts are a little flashy.
Painting of this sub is a piece of cake. I've follow by the instruction sheet. So, I used acrylic colors from "Mr.Color" no.339 for upper hull and no.31 for lower hull, and the name of this sub on display stand I made it from white decal sheet. I designated as K-123 "ALFA" Class
K-123 "ALFA" CLASS
She was a lead ship of this class. She was built at Severodvinshk Shipyard in 1978. On 8 August 1982 on duty in Barents sea. It was an accident of liquid metal coolant of the reactor, it was leak in the steam generator and contaminated the entire reactor compartment. It took eight years to change reactor, and the submarine was finally launched again in 1990. In 1991 she was recommissioned as test ship.
