Here's a few photos of my recently completed Zvezda 1/350 Kursk (Oscar II class) nuclear cruise missle sub. Although simple (it is a sub afterall) this appears to be one of the better injection mold kits to come out of Russia so far. Only real drawback is the lack of waterline decals, which I suppose I will add at a later date. Base paint is a mix of Tamiya German Grey and Black, with weathering done by lightly going over the coat with a damp brush to break up the color. The missle compartments can be portrayed open and detail on the inside of the covers is superb. However, missle tubes themselves badly need add-ons to give it a much more cramped and equipment packed look. Based on available photos, the current Russian paint scheme includes a red anti-fouling color, although all-black may also be acceptable. Those with more courage than I may wish to add a thin white boot topping along the water line. This same kit is apparently also sold by Zevda as the "Oriol" (aka "Orel").
