1/700 Gato class submarine (Tamiya)

This is the Tamiya 1:700 US Navy Gato class submarine, I have used the Toms modelworks PE set on it, the railings around the tower gun platforms were very tricky to bend into shape and I used the entire supply to get two. The two 40mm Bofors are WEM resin items and the 5inch25 on the aft deck was from the kit with seats and sights added.Two engine exhausts were drilled into each side of the aft casing. The model is painted in measure 32/9SS "dark grey job" scheme for which I used Humbrol paints. For black I have used humbrol navy blue which is quite convincing for black in small scales.For weathering I have streaked the hull with various shades of grey and pastel chalks have been used for rust patches.
