1/240 USS Cobia SS-245 (Lindberg)
While rummaging through a mid-Iowa hobby shop for O scale train parts I happened across a 're-issued' Lindberg kit of a U.S. WWII fleet boat type submarine. The original kit dates way back to the 1950's. Detail is sparse, some parts aren't exactly correct, but an advantage of the 'reissued' kit is the fact that it can be kit-bashed into any number of submarines. I finished the kit off as SS 245 Cobia, which is a floating museum in Oconomowoc, WI. The 'original' Lindberg fleet boat in the background, is my original Lindberg boat dating back to the early 1960's. It has been re-built and re-painted several times, and in its current form is the SS 324 Blenny. If I can find more of these Lindberg kits the variables are endless.
