1/700 USS Pampanito SS-383 (Hobby Boss)
This is my 1/700 USS Pampanito SS-383 in her mid-1945 fit. It's built from 1/700 Hobby Boss USS Balao kit. Initially I used the pictures I took on the Pampanito museum ship for reference. After doing some researches I realized there are some differences between the museum ship and her WW2 appearance. Some kit parts were modified to match her real WW2 look.
Single 40mm Bofors are from FlyHawk's US AA Weapon Set. 20mm AA is from Lion Roar. Radars are from Tom's Gato set. Plus the usual scratch built pieces. A bloom was added on the periscope mast as well. I modified the kit deck gun into a 5"/25 weapon. It's still a little bit over scale. Sea base was done using my usual acrylic gel based method.
