1/178 USS Sea Leopard SS-483 (Revell/Iron Bottom Sound)
This converted Revell sub was done with the Iron Bottom Sound early PM sail kit. These boats were the successor of the early Uss Odax which were the prototype Guppy but did not have a snorkel design yet . This early Guppy featured characteristics of the Guppy I Odax but were issued American snorkels. With this particular model, the Revell hull was sanded down to form the Guppy roundness. I will no longer be doing Guppies this way since now there is a new detailed adapter converter available from Iron Bottom Sound to correct the kits forward frames. Guppy life has become more practical.
