1/700 USS Maryland SSBN-738 (Dragon)
I just wanted a break from surface ships. I built this Ohio class
SSBN to fill a void in my Cold War fleet and to just have a weekend project
like my teenage years when all my models were built in a weekend...lol.
I 'christened' this submarine the Maryland after my wife's home state.
She says this is the closest I will allow her to "participate" in my model
building, haha! I included a picture of the Maryland lined up next
to a Los Angeles class attack sub and the Nautilus, just to show where
US submarine building has come since to 1950's and the dawn of nuclear
propulsion. Its not the worlds most perfect model but I like and
she sits proudly in my model case.
