1/300 USS Nautilus SSN-571 (Lindberg)

Lindberg has recently re-released two of the oldest plastic submarine kits in existence: a 1/240 scale US Fleet Boat, and a 1/300 scale rendition of the USS Nautilus, the first nuclear powered submarine.
 
Here's the Nautilus.  The kit is not entirely accurate (particularly the deck gun!) but it's fun to build and offers numerous possibilties for improvement.  I did a three color paint scheme, which is certainly more interesting than the all-black scheme of the actual ship, which can be visited at the US Submarine Force Museum in Groton, Connecticutt.
